Realstretch is a live, realtime time-stretching VST/AU plugin based on the Paulstretch extreme time-stretching algorithm. This plugin won 3rd place in the 2020 Audio Engineering Society Student Competition: MATLAB Plugin.
This the first time that an effect like Paulstrech can be used in a live, realtime setting with time-stretched versions of sounds being output immediately after the input – thus it can maintain temporal coherence between the input and time-stretched output.

Future plans for Realstretch include code improvements/optimizations, reducing latency, adding additional time-stretch algorithms, and creating a physical guitar pedal version of the effect.
Realstretch is an open source project for Matlab using the Audio Toolbox. The source code and pre-compiled VST and AU versions are available on GitHub and MathWorks File Exchange.
